It was a double action day at the Al Habtoor Polo Resort and Club wherein four teams competed on the second day of the Julius Baer Gold Cup 2019.
Habtoor Polo faced Zedan Polo in a match that had seen the teams at a tie with 2 goals each by the end of the first chukker. Habtoor Polo took control of the game when Facundo "Facu" Sola delivered 3 goals during the second chukker. The team had kept their 2 goal advantage all the way to the end and closed the game with 8 goals to 6.

The next match was between Ghantoot Polo and Dubai Wolves teams. Juan Gris Zavaleta had brought in goals for Ghantoot through to halftime and capped it off with 3 more by the fourth. The last two goals from Manuel Crespo and Martin Donovan resulted in a final score of 9 - 5 in favour of Ghantoot.

The Julius Baer Gold Cup, an 18-goal handicap tournament will continue on the 22nd of February 2019 at the Al Habtoor Polo Resort and Club. Abu Dhabi Polo will play against the Desert Palm teams at 14:00 and UAE Polo team will battle it out against Mahra at 16:00.

The Dubai Polo Gold Cup Series held in the UAE is one of only five tournaments in the world played in the WPT Championship Cup category, on a par with world-class events held in Argentina, Spain, United Kingdom and the United States. It was founded by its Chairman Mohammed Al Habtoor in 2009. The Silver Cup and the Dubai Challenge Cup falls under the World Polo Tour (WPT) Challenge Cup Category awarding the winners of the Silver Cup with 50 points, the finalists with 25, semi-finalists with 10 and the rest of the players with 5 points; and Dubai Challenge Cup winners with 20 points. The Gold Cup is under the WPT Championship Cup – the highest competition in terms of points, awarding its winners with 80 points.
